Laser Dental Technology

Lasers have been a part of our lives for some time. They are in our computer printers and compact disc players. They record prices at the super market check-out. They light up rock concerts, guide weapons, and measure distances between planets. Today they are blazing new trails into the field of dentistry.

Lasers have been successfully used in dentistry since the early 1990’s. The U.S. Food & Drug administration has determined that lasers provide safe and effective treatment of a wide range of applications. A laser is very safe. For some lasers, it is necessary to protect your eyes with special eyeglasses. It can not be used for all procedures.

We use 4 different lasers for 4 different main purposes.
1. The “DIAGNOdent” is used to detect hidden cavities.
2. The HOYA Con Bio “DELight” is used to remove decay
3. The HOYA Con Bio “DIODent II” is used for multiple soft tissue surgical procedures.
4. Low Level Lasers have been proven to have a beneficial biological effect.
